Many of you will have heard the press conference given by the Government today following their COBRA meeting this afternoon. The Choir Committee would like you to know that we will be considering the statements made and will shortly be making an announcement as to the...
Hopefully you all know by now that we have our next workshop tomorrow - on Saturday 14th March. This is an opportunity to run through the choruses we've done so far, and polish off 53. Worthy is the Lamb and 51. But Thanks that we rehearsed on Wednesday. Doors open...
Dear Choir Member,
There is much media coverage of the Coronavirus, some of which is helpful, some of which is not! Government advice is to continue with planned events and this is endorsed by the music group support organisation, Making Music. The Committee would therefore like to reassure you that we intend to carry on with our rehearsals and the May concert unless circumstances change and we are prevented from doing so.
In the meantime, we ask you to protect yourselves and others by following Government advice, paying particular attention to frequent and thorough handwashing (especially on arrival at rehearsals and during breaks), calling 111 and self-isolating if you have travelled to any high risk areas or feel poorly. Should you find yourself in this situation we would be very grateful if you could let us know.
We will of course monitor developments, follow advice and update you as necessary.
2021 concert will be in Chichester Cathedral! It's official....for our Spring 2021 concert we will be returning to the beautiful Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 24th April - programme to be announced in due course, but save the date!! We had to make it a bit earlier...
Yes folks…..it’s the first rehearsal of the month which means it’s time to shake those piggy banks again and bring your coins in to choir. If you’re lucky enough to win the draw you walk away with half the takings, the other half being donated to choir funds. Just look out for Julia (unless she finds you first….you have been warned!!).
Introducing our new Social Media rep – Emma Mills!
At last we can announce a replacement for Amanda McKee as our Social Media rep. Amanda will be a hard act to follow but Emma Mills (2nd Alto) has very kindly volunteered for this role and her work will start right away. Please do your damndest to support her efforts by visiting our Facebook page and Instagram app on your phones and liking the content. The more likes we get, the more visibility we get as a choir, so it all really helps for our path to worldwide domination!
We’re very happy to announce that our chosen charity for our Messiah concert in May will be….(cue drum roll)….BLISS (Charity No. 1002973), a charity that offers a wide range of free services for the families of premature and sick babies.
There were quite a few suggestions on charities this time, so choosing one was not easy, but with Bliss there is a personal connection with our choir and it is not one that we have collected for before, so we thought it would be a good one to support. The response from you all was brilliant though, so we will definitely try to use some of the other suggestions for our September/Summer concerts in the future. We were blown away with how involved and supportive you all are of these extremely deserving local and national causes.
