We’re very happy to announce that our chosen charity for our Messiah concert in May will be….(cue drum roll)….BLISS (Charity No. 1002973), a charity that offers a wide range of free services for the families of premature and sick babies.

There were quite a few suggestions on charities this time, so choosing one was not easy, but with Bliss there is a personal connection with our choir and it is not one that we have collected for before, so we thought it would be a good one to support.  The response from you all was brilliant though, so we will definitely try to use some of the other suggestions for our September/Summer concerts in the future.  We were blown away with how involved and supportive you all are of these extremely deserving local and national causes.

Practise for next rehearsal

Last week we went through

We did a sectional (this time just to mix it up a bit, Graham took the Sops and the Altos….)!  For next week, please practise:

  • We will continue with His yoke is easy
  • We will start Worthy is the lamb

Our next workshop – Saturday 14th March

Just a reminder that our next Saturday workshop is on 14th March.  The usual timetable is as follows:-

  • Doors open 9am
  • Workshop starts 9.30am
  • There will be a mid-morning coffee break and a longer break for lunch (around 20-30 mins)

Please bring refreshments and something to eat for lunch, although Christine will have tea/coffee organised and there are sandwiches on sale in Petworth at various coffee places/deli shops.  It is really important that our members attend these workshops – we have 5 hours of rehearsal time so we usually get a lot done – particularly when it comes to adding in little details to perfect our performance!

Don’t forget to keep looking at our Diary page just in case dates change (it has been known…. 🙂  )!

Printed sponsorship packs

We’re hoping that at our next rehearsal we’ll have glossy versions of the sponsorship pack available for you to give to potential sponsors, if e-mailing the electronic version doesn’t work for you!  Do look out for these and take one if you think you can find a good home for it!  We’ll have them on one of the front tables as you enter the URC – just ask.

Marketing our Concert – we need your help!

Please can you help? We are looking to make a comprehensive list of Parish/Local Magazines and Village facebook groups in our catchment area. If you could Rachel or one of our lovely rehearsal registration ladies know magazines/social media pages/noticeboards are in your particular area that would be wonderful then we can coordinate a plan of attack!
