Just a reminder that Richard has kindly offered to put on a little party for his birthday before choir on Wednesday. Kick-off will be 7.15pm. The bar will shut at 7.50pm so that everyone can help to clear up afterwards and be in full voice for our rehearsal starting promptly at 8pm!

Concert Notes and preparation…and where you can all help!

Liz is busily working on the concert programme which is looking really lovely.  However we need everyone to have a good think about friends/family/local businesses who might be interesting in advertising.  We rely on advertisers to pay for the cost of producing the programmes so it is an important part of helping towards the whole concert effort!

If you know anyone that might be interested in placing an advert, please CLICK HERE to display the Tariff Sheet.  We need to close out the design very soon but we’d love to hear from anyone!

Concert Notes

The Concert Notes webpage is up and running and can be accessed at any time from our Members Info menu. You can find out everything you can expect on Concert Day down to the minute, as well as print the Running Order to ensure you have your music in the right order in your folders during the concert.  We’ll have some pre-printed copies available at the rehearsal.

Volunteers – we need you to come forward!

As Rachel said at our last rehearsal – we need volunteers!!  We are always so impressed by the number of people that come forward week after week and at special events to lend a hand, but don’t always leave it to the same people!!  You can make a difference by:-

  • Helping Sally with refreshments during the interval and baking (please ask or email her to help)
  • Helping Archie prepare the stage for the orchestra and choir (please ask or email him)
  • Helping with clearing away at the church afterwards
  • Helping by asking about potential advertisers in the programme
  • Helping by taking a load of posters/flyers with you and distributing them around Petworth and surrounding villages
  • Helping by selling tickets!!

Telephone Box Office

Just a reminder that the Telephone Box Office continues to  be open outside of choir rehearsals for choir members that want to buy tickets and avoid paying commission.

Printable PDFs are on their way!

You should shortly receive a separate email containing links to PDFs of the music for the concert…..watch your email inbox over the next few days!!  We will also have some pre-printed copies available at £1 each at choir rehearsals from Wednesday onwards.

Black Folders – make sure you have one by Weds!

Please make sure you all have black concert folders – we have them at the URC so just ask on Wednesday – cost £10.

Our next rehearsal…

…will feature David Burrows as our stand-in Musical Director!  Many of you will remember him from Mozart’s Requiem where he was our tenor soloist, and he’s also taken a couple of our rehearsals whilst Graham has been on his travels.

Raffle to be drawn!

Empty out your pockets – search through your wallets/purses…..as Rachel said – the raffle from the previous 2 weeks will be drawn on Wednesday!  It might be your lucky night!!

Last 2 rehearsals…note change of venue!

Please note that the last 2 rehearals of term (Dec 4th and 11th) will not be at the URC – instead they will be at the Sacred Heart Church, Petworth (next to the Angel Inn).  This is because the URC are holding a Christmas Tree display which tends to take over most of the church, making potential rehearsals tricky….!

And finally….!

Can we bring your attention to a Come & Sing of Duruflé’s Requiem at the Cranleigh School Chapel on 4th January?  Our esteemed touring organist – Philip Scriven will be at the keyboard.  Details on the poster below….
