Lovely to see everyone last Wednesday in such good spirits and raring to go!! We certainly started off this term with a loud Hallelujah thanks to Handel!
On behalf of Rachel I’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the trouble to fill out the music requirements form – it really does help us get our orders right which in turn helps the choir to keep hold of our proverbial purse strings! The form has now been de-activated, so if you need to purchase any more music, or haven’t told her your requirements yet (naughty step will be provided!) please ask Rachel at choir.
We expect to have hire copies of Behold New Joy at the next rehearsal, so Rachel will be there sorting out music from 7.15pm. Please do come early again if you can – it makes things run a lot smoother for everyone and means that Rachel might even get a warmup before she starts singing 🙂
If you ordered music on Wednesday we’re keeping everything crossed that it arrives in time….!
On Wednesday we did the 2 Messiah choruses in a sectional rehearsal. Please do keep going over these. We now have LOTS of really useful practise aids for this piece on our website. Visit our Music Programme & Practise page, and in particular our Christmas Programme page. If you scroll down to the Handel – Messiah section you will see 3 new exciting little buttons, which will be used for the other music items as we find more help… :-
Autumn Concert – Tickets on sale!!
Our Autumn Concert tickets have started selling well! Bear in mind that the Sacred Heart Church is not a big venue, so we could well end up selling out of tickerts. Book yours early to avoid disappointment!
All tickets are the same price (£15, £7.50 for children) and all seats are unallocated, so seating is on a first come-first serve basis.
Posters will be available for distribution from Wednesday – we would be really grateful if you could all take a few to put round your local shops/restaurants/pubs to spread the word!
Click the poster for more details, or the tickets link to buy tickets online (subject to a small service charge).
Those of you who were at choir on Wednesday will have heard the sad announcement that Sue Loughnan (2nd Alto) sadly passed away in her sleep last Sunday.
She will be greatly missed by the choir, and her family have very kindly invited us to take part in the Funeral, which is taking place at 3pm this Tuesday at the Catholic Church in Duncton.
If you would like to attend, please let Jeannie know asap.
Diary Dates – keep checking these!
Unfortunately we had more changes to our Diary dates over the holidays. Just so that you all have the most up-to-date dates booked in your diaries, here’s where we’re at. Click the picture for the full Diary page.
New Tea Rota – Volunteers Please!
Christine has been busy putting together a new Tea Rota this term – thanks so much to those who have volunteered already. This task is really important as it keeps us fed and watered throughout the rehearsal, but that tea won’t make itself…we need volunteers to keep this service going! If you can help please visit the Tea Rota page.
