The love of singing conquers all!
Despite thunderstorms, gale-force winds, heavy rain, severe weather warnings and the fear of frizzy hair, a dozen or so of The Leconfield Singers battled their way to Chiddingfold in Surrey yesterday to sing at a wedding.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Wright family for their kindness and generosity, and for inviting us to be part of such a beautiful service filled with love, joy and happiness. [That was shamelessly plagiarised from Amanda’s Facebook post…!]
The great news for the choir is that we received a fantastically generous donation of £500 – a welcome contribution to our coffers as we embark on another exciting chapter in the story that is The Leconfield Singers!!
Enormous thanks to Amanda McKee for making it all happen – it was no mean feat sorting out rehearsals and ensuring we had enough people contributing.
We are also extremely grateful to all those who volunteered to take part and support Amanda in this venture, namely (in no particular order) Jennie Slimmon, Roger Good, Andrea Frears, Brian Knowles, Pippa Storey, Michael Batty, Ted Wheatley, Iain Brooks, Terry Hill, Christine Parker, Liz Stedall and Jeannie Esdaile.
Some photos are included here to give a flavour of the afternoon….funny how with The Leconfield Singers there’s always a pub somewhere in the mix 🙂
