Last chance for fee-free tickets!
The concert is nearly here, so Wednesday will be the LAST CHANCE you have to buy tickets free of booking fee charges @ 7%. Please do take advantage of this. Archie has installed our new funky card reader, so really any type of money is acceptable to us (at the moment we might even consider EUROs 🙂 ). Remember it’s a smaller church so tickets are limited. We will be opening up the Box Office and Rachel will also be giving out Christmas music, from 7pm next week, so please come early to avoid the queues!
Those tickets won’t buy themselves!!!!
Please talk to all your family and friends and spread the word about our great concert – we need to up the ante on our ticket sales and need your support. We always get fantastic feedback on the quality of our concerts so they won’t be disappointed, and remember that your support makes it all possible!
Concert Notes now available
I’m sure you all know the score now….but for our newcomers and those that like to be absolutely sure what will be expected on “C-Day”, we have prepared some detailed Concert Notes for you. These can be found outside of this post on our Concert Notes page in the Members Info area, which also contains various other bits of useful information such as a summary of timings for the day and concert dress.
Running Order – a correction (sorry!)
I’m afraid there was a bit of a mistake on the Autumn Concert Running Order handed out last week and posted previously – just please bear in mind that the first of the solos advertised is actually not just ONE but TWO solos i.e. two movements from Salve Regina. This has now been corrected and I can only apologise to those of you diligent enough to have already printed it out!
Fill those tummies….!
Jeannie has been busy making arrangements behind the scenes with The Angel to make sure we all sing in the concert with full tummies, as Petworth has lots going for it but as we’ve found in the past, eating in the late afternoon/early evening on a Saturday is not a strong point!!
We will be asking for a show of hands to get an idea of how many will be up for soup and a sandwich, between the rehearsal and the concert, at a price of £10 (there will be an honesty box so please bring cash with you on the day).
Practise for next week….
Lovely to see you all back, but although we have 64 now signed up for the concert (which is great by the way!), there was by no means a full house at the rehearsal, so please keep up the practise at home. For those that didn’t make it we got through Blessed be the God, Haydn, O Vos Omnes and Verleih uns Frieden, and touched on Bogoroditsye Dyevo. Next Wednesday we’ll be going over the music we didn’t cover last week i.e. in particular a refresh of Bogoridtsye Dyevo, the 3 madrigals, Rejoice and the Cantique, and probably the encores, so please do as much homework on these to familiarise yourselves with them prior to the rehearsal.
Remember – we still have the Music Programme & Practise page with all the useful audio clips for your voice parts.
Welcome Drinks on Wednesday 19th September from 7pm!
As an after concert celebration and to welcome everyone back to the Christmas programme, we’re having a drinks evening on 19th September from 7pm. This is a great chance to catch up with everyone again, exchange stories about what you got up to over Summer, and also to bring any of your family/friends who are thinking of joining us – so do put the time in your diaries!

That’s it for now – see you on Wednesday!
